Abstract

This report is the results of a joint FOA-DGA/CAD workshop about models for planing and evaluating peace support operations. During the workshop three models were presented, tested and evaluated (preliminary): The French MIC-MAC, the Swedish CASPER (morphological analysis) and the Swedish Pivotal Point model. All were configured to support the planning phase of an international operation. The workshop concluded that while none of the models in themself was a complete answer to the planning problem they together could make up a powerful "toolbo)e´. The MIC-MAC would then be a tool used to verify the relevance of the variables used in CASPER and Pivotal Point, which in turn mainly generates and help evaluating scenarios.
