Abstract
This report describes methods and tools to handle data collected by a helicopter-mounted laser scanning system with the objective to create a high resolution digital terrain model. An important subproblem is how to separate forestry data from the digital description and to analyse and visualize the result. The report delineates the conversion process from laser radar data to regular grids for different altitude layers. This gives a basis for adaptions of the data for various purposes. Experience gained from measurements made in the Valla area in Linköping 1998 serve to exemplify the use of the tools.
