Abstract
The main activities within the project Technical Threat Systems Analysis at Swedish Defence Research Institute, FOI, include modelling and simulation of missiles, targets and electronic warfare countermeasures. Developing a complete and detailed target-missile simulation scenario may be very time consuming, and it is therefore of great interest to be able to include simulation models developed by other parties. This can be done through a common interface, making the simulation models parts of a distributed simulation. This report describes the possibilities of adapting ACSL models into the HLA standard for distributed simulation. The underlying work is the development of an environment that connects an ACSL missile model and an ACSL target model via a runtime infrastructure, RTI. The report shows that an HLA adaptation of ACSL models is possible. However, running HLA simulations containing the ACSL models have influences on the performance, in comparison to the case of having the target and missile in the same ACSL model. The report shows that the prior case is considerably slower than the latter.
