Abstract

The initiator of seminar was the Bulgarian Department of Defence. Host was the faculty of interoperability in the G.S. Rakovski Defence and Staff Collage. The aim with the seminar was to exchange opinions and experience and to develop a common understanding about the requirements on a Lessons Learned system within the NATO/PfP community. Sweden participated with three persons from the Naval Command and the Swedint. Besides Sweden also Rumania, Bulgaria and the United States were represented. Since a couple of years ago both the Swedish Naval Forces and the Swedint have a structured process for experience gathering and dissemination. Because of this reason the seminar was considered to be a good place to further improve the knowledge of how other nations and organisations in NATO/PfP are doing this kind of business. The US Army´s Centre for Army Lessons Learned (CALL) was in detail described. CALL was created in 1985 and is today organised under the US Army Doctrine and Training Command. A lot of new ideas of how the Swedish Armed Forces Lessons Learned Process can be developed were generated during the seminar.
