Abstract
A test series was performed in full scale to investigate if a fire may arise in a wall due to soldering of pipe joints. A section of a wall with an area of 1 square metre was built according to specification. A through hole was bored for wall entrance of a water pipe. During the test a pipe fitter connected pipe joints by soldering close to the wall in a standardized manner. Three tests were performed in a similar way. Temperature was measured on the surface of the pipe at three locations and at one location of the heat loaded wall material. The working moments were documented with a video camera. After the test series the wall was disassembled for visual observations. The result of the test series showed that that there was no damage due to heating of the wall material.
