Target strength measurements on corner reflectors

For SAAB Bofors Underwater Systems, Motala, we have made target strength measurements on 16 corner reflectors. The result shows that the differences between the reflectors are small. The measured target strengt is 5-6 dB below the theoretical value for an ideal corner reflector. During the measurements it was found that the target strength successively decreases after the reflectors having been submersed. Because of this effect we made further measurements to investigate the size and time dependence of the decrease of the target strength.
