Abstract

This document describes a synthetic aperture radar (SAR) model adopted for the VHF band (CARABAS) and implemented during 2004. The simulator is time stepped and uses several local models in combination with the superposition principle to generate radar raw data from a large area. The scene possible to simulate contains tree stems and individual scatterers, e.g. vehicles, on dielectric ground. SAR image formation is performed with previously developed algorithms. Through MOSART a user interface is provided for the model.
