Abstract
The first step in developing a computer code for two-dimensional coupled electro-mechanical problems has been taken. A new program module has been added to the explicit finite elements code GRALE, developed at FOI. With that module the heating and deformation of a rod or thread, subjected to a strong electric current, can be simulated.
