Abstract
The project Human Factors tools for C2 has performed a study of Commander's Intent (CI), staff handover between teams in G3 STRITOC, validation of a staff's working space, and work with SLB (a C2 system). The study was performed during C2 training sessions with the 19th battle group/brigade battle group, in Enköping and Boden. The analyses of the understanding of CI showed that the highest commander and the brigade commander considered themselves having conveyed CI to their subordinate commanders in a distinct and clear manner, while G3 considered themselves havening conveyed CI somewhat less clearly to their subordinate commanders. The brigade commander and G3 considered themselves having conveyed CI somewhat more clearly to their subordinate commanders, than how their subordinate commanders considered having received CI from them. Staff handover between teams in G3 STRITOC was well organized, and it followed the example presented in the battle group's handbook. During the exercise in Boden, the STRITOC was deployed in a new and adaptable staff working space, and it was mainly considered as well functioning. However, during the validation it was shown that the placement of tables and apparatus did not function well, according to the working tasks of the staff and the modifications that where made. The staff's use of SLB and a number of other technical facilities were studied, with the purpose of making it possible to pinpoint the possibilities of development and potential future research issues.
