Abstract
A continuum-based two-phase model has been identfied as a key component on the computational side for describing phenomena such as deflagration-to-detonation transition, afterburning and acceleration of metal particles. In this report, the goal is to derive a mathematical framework for each of these applications from a general set of governing equations. We also discuss what type of solver that is suitable for this class of problems.
