Abstract

The project Utveckling av Systemförmåga, [Development of System Capability] has been running for three years. Results from previous years have been reported separately in the respective annual reports. The work of 2019 was divided into four work packages: Monitoring of the aerospace system area and related air defense issues. Literature study of System-of-Systems Engineering to serve as a theoretical framework for building a future system simulation framework. Requirements on a simulation framework that can be used to make technical evaluations of aviation systems at different levels. In-depth analysis of a generic light missile platform with the MALD system as model pattern was performed at subsystem level to evaluate partly performance and partly gain knowledge about the simulation methods and the tools' capabilities and robustness. In 2017, a technology review was made, covering new technologies, which are expected to enable new tactics and operational opportunities. The areas covered were Adaptive / agile Systems, Passive Electro-Optical Systems, Laser Technology, Radar and Human-Autonomy Teaming as well as Hypersonic Platforms. In 2018, the project made a preliminary system analysis of an available airborne missile platform system from the USA: Raytheon's ADM-160 MALD. An analysis of the historical use of progenitor systems as well as an economic analysis of attrition warfare were presented.
