Naval target description - Area defence frigate, version 2023

A description of a naval target for Aval has been produced within the scope of the Swedish Armed Forces R&D-program. The target description, called ADF (Area Defense Frigate), is based on a generic ship produced in a concept study, within a ship design course carried out at Virginia Tech. The development of the target description aims to identify and develop methods and models for studying vulnerability of ships in relation to weapon effects. The report mainly describes the geometric structure of the target, which in version 2023 is relatively well worked out. A proposal for continued work to improve the functionality of the target description is presented at the end of the report.
