The ACROSS project aims to boost the ongoing technological effort in the field of adaptive camouflage for the protection of terrestrial systems.

The ACROSS project brings together 19 partners from nine EU countries with the main objective of developing disruptive technologies and solutions for adaptive camouflage. The project is funded by the European Defence Fund (EDF).

From 2023 to 2028, ACROSS will develop solutions in two specific areas of protection systems: soldier and platform systems. The project will develop multispectral adaptive camouflage solutions capable of adapting to various scenarios. The research will focus on a combination of innovative and current technologies that use disruptive materials to obtain protection in multiple spectral ranges.

In addition, ACROSS will develop adaptive camouflage techniques and devices capable of adapting their signatures to the background, surveillance sensors (especially when active), different meteorological and daytime conditions and the level of threat, thus reducing the ranges of detection, tracking, recognition and identification and increasing the survivability of soldiers and platforms.
