Abstract
This report summarises the research from the fiscal year 2000 within the Swedish Defence Research Agency in the domain of Modelling and Simulation. In the report you will find a summing-up of the aim and direction of the research domain and the national and international development. The results of the research are summarised and the activities in each project are described. Efforts have been made to increase the competence in Modelling and Simulation especially within the areas of Conceptual Models of Mission Space (CMMS), Verification, Validation and Accreditation (VV&A), Tools for distributed simulation based on HLA, Synthetic Environments for Modeling and Simulation and especially the SEDRIS technology. These efforts have led to a deeper understanding of how the concept High Level Architecture (HLA) will be used in the development process of new models and to understand how to avoid difficulties. The project CMMS at Department of Defense has been summing-up in a report. A draft of guidelines has been given for differ ent type of roles and responsibilities in the working process with verification, validation and accreditation of simulation models. The contents of SEDRIS: synthetic environments, standards and techniques have been documented in a report.
