Abstract

The Swedish Defence Research Agency - FOI has developed a model for classification and assessment of exposed objects existing protection against burglary, sabotage and terrorism. The work was carried out under contract to the Swedish Agency for Civil Emergency (ÖCB). The overall model consists of three parts: a model for classification of exposed objects, a model for assessment of existing protection against burglary, sabotage and terrorism of exposed objects and also model for identifying and to give priority to exposed objects with a demand for improved protection and surveillance. One conclusion is that the model for classification should be used as a basis only (and not determinative for decisions regarding ratification of exposed objects. Finally, proposals are made for further work, where the overall model should be verified for different types of exposed objects and that it should be converted into a user-friendly format.
