Abstract
During 2001 the environmental work at the two former authorities FOA and FFA have been integrated into one for the new authority FOI. An environmental impact assessment has been performed for the activities of FOI in Bromma. The board of FOI has confirmed an environmental policy for FOI and the general director has confirmed common environmental goals. An environmental risk evaluation has been performed for the area that FOI no longer uses in Ursvik. Environmental matters have been added as a specific task in the project plans for the year 2002 and the research at the division of aeronautics has been evaluated from the environmental point of view. The Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Armed Forces, the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration and the National Fortifications Administration have contracted FOI for environmental research. FOI has also performed environmental research for the civil sector. The work directed towards obtaining comparable key numbers on energy, paper consumption, waste and travels continues during 2002. Another video studio has been established in Bromma and the use of video meetings has increased from 500 to 530 hours compared with 2000. Key groups have attended courses in environmental law, ISO 14001 and environmental auditing. Common environmental courses for all personal have been given for T31, Grindsjön and Ursvik. The internal auditor has reviewed the environmental work at FOI. He finds that it has to be intensified during 2002 in order to reach the goal of an environmental management system according to ISO 14001 the year 2003.
