Annual report 2001 on assessment operations research

In this annual report FOI reports on the work done for the Swedish Armed Forces during 2001 within the research area Assessment and Operations Research. The research area consists of Operations Research Groups, placed in different parts of the Swedish Armed Forces, and of research projects at FOI. The Operations Research Groups have primarily participated in the long term planning process and in different studies within the Swedish Armed Forces. The project ANABASIS has shown that the evaluation of air combat requires the simultaneous evaluation of a number of different factors regarding the aircraft. Within the project quantitative and qualitative Operations Research Methods, knowledge at FOI about Operations Research Methods has been channelled to the Operations Research Groups in a more efficient manner than what has previously been the case. The Swedish Armed Forces benefits from the research within the research area Assessment and Operations Research by the contribution to a systematic process before defence decisions. The 2001 turnover was 42.2 MSEK, of which 31.0 MSEK was the turnover for the Operations Research Groups.
