Abstract

This report continues the work documented by the precedent FOA-report named "Robusta bostadsområden och grannskap- Nyckeltal för drift och planermg" (m English: "Robust residential areas and vicinities. Key ratios for operation and management") on a more practical level. The report: consists of a number of sections and supplerments in which the work is described in detail. lst section, - Background - consists of among other things an account of concepts used in the report, the main outlines of the project: and a summary of the principles of management of sustainable enterprises and sustainable accounting. Yd section ~ Simulation of alternaftve courses of developinent - is meant for planners m vanous professions. The section gives an account of and results from simulations of a residential area as the area is confronted, with different challenges. The main points are the prerequisites for and the outcornes from the simulations. Yd section - Early warning systern for sustainability in operation of residential areas - In this section the following questions are asked: - Which are the critical factors and weak signals we need to keer track of in order to control the robustness? - How to observe and monitor thesefactors and signals zoithin and outside the area? The section contains also, a description of Lindeborg and an outline to an early warning system called ARGUS. 4th section - Methodological expenences 9h section - Implementation.
