Abstract
F01 has access to the mine sweep simulation program TREAMM (Target RiskEsämadon Against MultipLe Mines). TREAMM is designed by the Coastal Systerns Station at Naval Surfåce Warfare Center, Panama City as a teol for estimating mine sweeping effectiveness and risk to follow-on traffic after a mined area has been swept- The aim ofthis report is to describe TREAMM, and to give a user´s view along with suggestions of possible areas ofusage. The result should, in conjunction with the official user´s docurnent, be sufficient to serve as basis for decisions, regarding fluther use of TREAMM. TREAMM´s greatest asset is its ability to generate statistics when simulating target ship(s) and/or sweep(s) against multiple mines, and the program is for that reason useful when evaluating sweep operations, when producing data for decision-making, and as a tactical decision support tool. TREAMM is alse, of use when determining how to sweep a minefleid, given a fixed mission time or a set percentage of mine clearance. The version of TREAMM that is available to F01 has sorne limitations, which causes problerns using the program. Currently, TREAMM only handles magnetic mines and contact mines. The user´s document does not explain the internal logic of TREAMM and it is thereföre bard to understand how specific pararneters affect output data.
