Annual report 2002 on Assessment and Operations research for the Armed Forces

In this annual report FOI reports on the work done for the Swedish Armed Forces during 2002 within the research area Assessment and Operational Research. The research area consists of Operational Research Groups, placed in different parts of the Swedish Armed Forces, and of research projects at FOI. The Operational Research Groups have primarily participated in the long term planning process and in different studies within the Swedish Armed Forces. The project ANABASIS has focussed on modifications that were necessary in order to support a new study at the Swedish Armed Forces HQ. The project LUST has presented guidelines for the development of a method for evaluation of command and control structures. The Swedish Armed Forces benefits from the research within the research area Assessment and Operational Research by the contributions to a systematic process before defence decisions. The 2002 turnover was 48.0 MSEK, of which 31.0 MSEK was the turnover for the Operational Research Groups.
