Annual report for land mine system project

This annual report describes the Mine threat as we see it today and in the near future. Detection of mines and UXO by detecting explosives and related compounds in air and soil by analyzing those samples with GC and LC-MS are described. Descriptions are given for how explosives and related compounds are leaking out of mines and UXO in soil, air and water. Ongoing studies with Bacterial biosensors are given and also results from degradation studies of explosives and polymers. Trials with Termite Devices, developed by FOI, for neutralization of AT-mines and some other munitions has been performed and the results are given.
