Abstract
The present report gives an overview of the activities, used methodology and methodology developments during the year 2003 for the project "Assessment of Electronic Warfare in Network Centric Defence". Treated areas have been (i) "Information flow in C2I -systems", and (ii), "Assessment of the EWS 39 Electronic Warfare System EWS 39, for the JAS 39 Gripen". Within the first area (i) Shannons information concept, combined with Bayersian statistics, has been identified as a promising tool for analysis and assessment, not only of large network-based air defence systems, but also for the emerging network centric defence concept. Within the second area (ii), a survey and assessment of possible updates of the JAS 39 Gripen fighter EW capability has been performed, and a better basis for future procurements thus established.
