This report summarises the results from the fiscal year 2004 within FOI research area of NBC defence. The report gives a survey of the ongoing activities, the extent and directing of the area and the national and international development in the field of NBC-defence. During 2004 FOI has for example - Studied and analysed the international development in the NBC-area and reported to the Government and authorities concerned - In cooperation with Universities and international research Agencies completed the genome sequence for the potential BW agent, Francisella tularensis - Contributed with three experts, responsible for C-, B- and N/R issues, in one of NATOs committees for civilian warplanning, Joint Medical Committee - In cooperation with Swedish authorities arranged the eighth international symposium on protection against CB warfare agents
