A real-time processor for CARABAS-II has been implemented and evaluated. All parts in the processing chain from radar data to target detections are included, i.e. pulse-compression, radio-frequency interference filtering, fast backprojection, geocoding, matching, classification, CFAR filtering, detection and finally graphical display of images,detections and map data. All steps work on data blocks to allow real-time data-flow and process parallelization. It is shown that the system achieves real-time or near real-time processing performance using two 4-CPU computers.
