Abstract
This project has been going on for three years and is terminated in its present form at the end of 2005. In the first year, a study of fundamental theory for noise radar was made. During the second year a proof of concept experiment was done in order to illustrate the function, and to a certain degree, the possibility to build noise radar systems with a digital receiver channel. This year the work has included the development of a method for simulating the electronics in transmitter and receiver parts, with the intent to improve the efficiency of system design and construction of future noise radar systems. The RF-toolbox, in combination with the RF-blockset for Simulink (Matlab), has been evaluated for this purpose. The results are promising but the handling of the product has not been without difficulties, which have had the effect that a complete suggestion for design has not been possible to evaluate in full detail. Apart from simulations resources have been reserved for participation and work efforts related to the task group for noise radar, which recently has been initiated within NATO.
