Abstract

This report goes, from a user perspective, through a case of input and output of Grale2d for simulation of the interior ballistics of guns in two dimensions. Grale2d is an arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian (ALE) solver for problems in either plane strain or axial symmetry and has been developed since 2004 at FOI for the simulation of shaped charge jets. In 2005 an extension for the interior ballistics of guns was started. This report treats the input data needed and goes through a case of input and output for a model of a Bofors 40-mm m/70B guns with a tracer shell M/90.
