Abstract
This report describes the work carried out in creating a foundation and a working plan to improve the ability of FOI, and thus the Swedish Armed Forces´ ability, to systematic and continuous open source intelligence for military space issues. At the starting point there was a need for ensuring the information need of space issues, therefore in the autumn of 2010 a workshop was set up with participants from the Swedish Armed Forces to investigate this. In the process it has become clear that the information need is perceived by the same way from both FOI and the Swedish Armed Forces. It has also been shown that there is a need for monitoring and analyzing space issues further and more thoroughly than how it is done today. In addition, work has been done on compiling the information need and transforming it into a number of requirements for a system to be developed in 2011. Therefore, the reader is also introduced to the initial design of the system for open source intelligence and the plans for 2011 and onwards.
