Annual Report 2010 on FOI's Research on Modelling and Simulation

This report summarises the research from the fiscal year 2010 within the Swedish De-fence Research Agency in the domain of Modelling and Simulation. It presents an overview of the research domain and the national and international development. The results of the research are summarised and the activities carried out in each project are described. M&S is an area of growing importance to the Swedish Armed Forces (SwAF) that provides support to various activities in the SwAF and is a cost effective alternative to traditional solutions. Hence the research in the area seeks to support and develop SwAF capability to use M&S. This is done by developing and evaluating methods, techniques, products and tools, as well as providing direct support to various parts of the FM (e g. expert support, studies and international cooperation) when prompted. In order to offer solutions with high quality and high-level international research strives to stay on the cutting edge in the field. A prerequisite for this goal is to monitor developments in the area through benchmarking and the establishment of national and international contacts and collaborations.
