Abstract
The overall objective of the transfer project LKS planning is to the provide the Swedish Armed Forces planning and training in the effects of information operations, in order to coordinate these types of operations more efficiently. The developed software aims to be used as a planning aid to operational Staff (J3 INSS InfoOps) where it shows the effects of electronic warfare and CNO in planned scenarios and is a resource to collect and process information on the site. The technical platform that was developed in previous Warfare Simulation project has been adapted to the new needs in this project. Work has been carried out iteratively incrementally. Needs that arise during tests and experiments where transformed too requirements, designed and tested in experiments in which new needs arise. This version is the final version of LKS Planning. The tools are developed to allow planning to follow the current (GOP) and future management method (COPD). LKS scenarios can take place anywhere in the world and in environments with different levels of infrastructure. To meet the new needs the developed planning tool has expanded capacity for terrain handling using, subscenarios for different options and has the ability to handle geometries of map areas. The synchronization matrix is handled using a Gantt chart, and other documents needed in the management process are available in a command and control information system (SWECCIS). The requirements for the tools user interface have been investigated and developed by using a rapid prototyping method. To test the LKS demonstrator scenario description and planning process with the GOP / COPD an all-day experiment was performed with experienced experiment participants who were well familiar in both information operations and the Defence Forces planning process (GOP). Analysis of collected data showed that the LKSplanning tools can be used in the planning of information operations. Improvements carried out since previous experiments have greatly facilitated the operation of the tool and the work of adapting to the management process of COPD has also been a success.
