Abstract

In the project IED-Logistics, the multispectral imaging system HLIN has been developed. In this report, the main future challenges for the system and the on-going work to solve some of the issues are described. The development of HLIN will continue in a project which will make the prototype eye-safe and improve the database of explosives which can be identified. In other projects the possibility to overcome difficulties with fluorescence and opaque packaging has been investigated with good result. A prototype based on the same technique as HLIN is being built for scanning moving targets on a conveyor belt, and yet another new technique using coded apertures is being tested. Combining the progress made in different projects would in the future lead to a breakthrough in moving the technology towards moving targets and fast measurements.
