Abstract

The aim of the report is to develop a test plan for transition of laboratory based IPE tests into a field test that more thoroughly reflects operational circumstances and also to discuss whether it is worthwhile performing field trials or not. The report is produced under a trilateral project arrangement (PA) between FOI, Sweden, DRDC, Canada and TNO, the Netherlands, called FINAPP (Future threat environment - Integrated Approach for CBR Personal Protection). As a first step, an inventory of the current whole system test methods used for evaluating IPE was made. The parameters (temperatures, humidity, test substances, etc.) used during these tests were compared and parameters relevant to include in a final field test were defined. The need for other resources, i.e. weather station, dissemination equipment, permissions, was identified. As a final step, a test plan for field testing of IPE was developed.
