Abstract

This work is an integrated part in the development of a sampling manual adapted for the municipal fire brigades to cover their need for sampling in a rescue operation when support of chemical analysis is needed. The sampling manual includes descriptions of methods for sampling on contaminated soil, air and water as well as description of proper packaging and shipping. Proposed methods and equipment are in appropriate paragraphs harmonized with the Armed Forces CBRN sampling procedures. However, simplification has been done in order to fit the regular missions of the fire brigades. Upon working with highly toxic CBRN materials, the Armed Forces CBRN-procedures should be followed. The manual is developed in collaboration between the MSB, FOI, MSB advanced detection group and the Swedish Armed Forces.
