Abstract
In this report we present an inventory of simulation tools and models that are in use or have been used at FOI for assessment of ground combat, mainly at an operational level. Operational in this report is defined as combat between brigade units. There is a general need to evaluate the possibility of reuse of previously developed ground combat simulation tools, considering the changing conditions for modelling and simulations in the recent decades. A line of reasoning is also presented regarding different methods for using computer aided evaluations of ground combat, and how the choice of simulating method varies based on the questions being studied. Common for all methods is the need for an unbroken chain of knowledge, containing model parameterization data, expertise on modelling as well as detailed domain knowledge regarding ground combat. The purpose of the inventory is to make a decision basis for identifying current and future needs for method and tools development to support operational ground combat evaluations and analyses.
