Abstract

This document describes a proposal for a generic command and control (C2) cabin designed as a target description to be used in the third set of Round Robin tests (RR3) for lethality assessments with NIFAK (NATO Indirect Fire Appreciation Kernel). The target description, including attached geometrical data in stl-format, is intended to be used by all RR3 participants to generate targets for their vulnerability/lethality (V/L) codes. A common set of targets is required to enable result comparisons. The C2 cabin description is kept very simple in order to be useful in as many of the participant's different V/L codes as possible. The cabin is defined by the geometrical description, material parameters, component kill criteria and a functional description. All users shall convert data to a suitable format for their V/L code, with the intention to keep it as similar to this description as possible. In addition to the data provided in this document, any user will also need the soldier data provided by DSTL (Defence Science and Technology Laboratory) for the NIFAK RR3. Generic warhead data for the simulations of the RR3 will be provided by TNO, the Netherlands Organisation for applied scientific research.
