Technical aspects regarding underwater cables

The report is intended to form the basis for the Swedish Armed Forces' assessment of possible risks related to interference in military systems caused by underwater cables. The report contains recommendations regarding which information is relevant in the risk assessment. Based on this material and knowledge of sensitivity in military systems it is possible to assess potential risks for disturbances due to underwater cables. Generic tools were developed within the project which can be used to asses the electromagnetic fields generated by sea cables. The tools are designed to cover a variety of common sea cables and can thus be used in the risk assessment process.
