Abstract

The purpose of this report is to investigate an anti-aircraft gun's ability to combat small manoeuvring targets. This has been done by performing Monte Carlo simulations on a model implemented in MATLAB, and the results have been compared with prior work at FOI. The report highlights the difficulties for this weapons platform to handle manoeuvring targets. Investigations into guided ammunitions are recommended, as these are believed to be able to combine the manoeuvrability and precision of missiles with the high fire rates, large magazine depth, and relatively low cost commonly associated with cannon-launched projectiles.
