Notes on the Implementation of a Model for Shaped Charge Penetration

A program for determining shaped charge penetration into various materials has been developed and is described here. The purpose of the report is to guide users of the model and to provide future developers with the necessary background needed to modify the model further. The program uses data from an X-ray image of a fragmented shape charge jet as input to calculate penetration based on the incompressible Bernoulli equation. The program is capable of generating stand-off curves or serve as a basis for future implementation into a vulnerability and lethality software where it can be used as a penetration model.
