Abstract

Photovoltaic systems have been shown to generate electromagnetic signals that can interfere with nearby radio receivers. Measurements have been performed at two different types of facilities to investigate the characteristics and strength of the interference signals. In one installation, optimizers were built into the inverters and in the other installation optimizers were installed on each solar panel on the roof. Conducted emissions were measured in both facilities. The results show that the frequency content and strength of the interference signals can differ greatly between different photovoltaic systems.
