Abstract
Within a larger project that includes the acquisition of a new anti-tank robot, a training needs analysis (TNA) has been carried out. The TNA was conducted during a workshop where representatives from the Swedish Armed Forces and FOI participated. The results show that the fire direction officers should undergo a somewhat modified training for forward observation officers. Personnel in other parts of the anti-tank platoon, education, training and exercises need to be carried out to achieve the required competence. However, to be able to carry out such training certain tools need to be provided, i.e. printed documents such as manuals, vehicle recognition cards and handbooks. There is also a need for educational material that supports lessons. Development of a software for the training of vehicle recognition would be beneficial. There is also a need to supplement existing C2 training software with the possibility to use Rbs 58. Finally, the TNA showed that a certain set of tools in order to be able to carry out practical training and exercises with Rbs 58 is required, e.g. simulators for the training of fire direction officers and UAS-pilots, non-fireable drill systems, firing practice systems, robots with inert filling and exercise boxes.
