Abstract
Integrating new large IT systems into the Swedish Armed Forces is sometimes difficult since it is often difficult to identify all needs regarding interoperatibility that exist during an acquisition process. In order to deal with this challenge, the Swedish Armed Forces Communication and Information Systems Command (FMTIS) intends to apply 22 previously identified principles for a more effective and efficient acquisition and integration of two new IT systems. The purpose of the current project is to: 1) support FMTIS with knowledge and implementation of the 22 principles, 2) based on the 22 principles, evaluate the activities that FMTIS conducts, and 3) carry out a case study where the outcome of the implementation of the principles is compared with other initiatives taken within FMTIS to make work more efficient. This report presents a plan for how the project's questions are to be answered. The intention is to carry out a case study based on action research, supplemented with group interviews and surveys. The report provides a theoretical background and discusses why the research methods above are suggested.
