Abstract

The purpose for the project Target recognition with high resolution 3-D imaging laser radar is to increase knowledge in the field and to give a base for better assessment of the performance of 3-D imaging laser radar systems, current systems as well as future systems. Methods to exploit the third dimension to increase the ability to discover and recognize difficult targets in vegetation and urban environment is also an important part of the project. This report describes the work during 2005 and covers: o New laser scanner and a new compact 3-D camera o International contacts including a field trial o A study of the international state-of-the-art 3-D laser radar sensors o Development of methods for segmentation and target recognition o Field trials and laboratory measurements
