Abstract

The report covers the method and first results of a study conducted through interviews and questionnaires. Twelve officers of the Swedish armed forces with international mission experience have participated in the study. The method developed has its origin in the dynamic decision making research area (Klein et al., 1989; Kylesten, 2005, 2006; Wong, 2005). The preliminary results describes military reality during international missions. The method developed works well for collecting data and describing the work situation during international missions. But there is still a need to expand the analysis of the data collected and to further tie the results to the technical research.
